What is the rod under the accel rod on the drivers side on the carb linkage on automatics? I cannot find it listed in ecklers mag. anywhere near the section that shows the accel rod? My 66 coupe has it but I was thinking of purchasing another while I'm finishing the engine detailing.

Kickdown rod. Regulates the fluid pressure in the trans, which determines the shift points. Most notably, when the trans downshifts into "passing gear" (ar.).
