    Slow C2 headlight

I took both my 66 healight motors out, disassembled them, cleaned them as per the restorer article put them back in and while they both open and close. One of them is still 4-5 seconds behind the other especially when closing. I tried to adjust the rotating knob but to no avail. I'm trying to get them in sync, they are close when opening but not when closing.

Any ideas here folks, how to adjust them or what now??

Keith, that is really not an adjustment knob. It is to set the tension on the armature so it rides correctly in the case. to much tension or too loose can cause it to burn the armature.

In trying to fix the same problem with my motors, I swapped all the parts that were easily swappable between the two, there was no change. I did notice that in the slow motor the armature did wobble from side to side causing it to bind.

The problem was the lower brass bushing. I replace the bushing and now there at the same speed.
