Surprised the following question has not been asked OR my search wording is just off. If the info is someplace already please just direct me.
The chrome round knob on the door release shaft - what is the story.
The 63/64 JG states it's chrome metal (64), however mine appeared to be very light in weight and was considered chromed plastic. A quick look at some reference material and now who knows the true story?
64 AIM page D105 lists knob as 3846934
P&A (71) in section 10 shows a picture for 63-66 as part# 3829456 while
G10.512 in same lists as 64-71 as 3846934.
Clearly many flavors have been available so could interested members check their AIM and/or earlier P&A for the other years, 65,66,67 and see what part numbers are listed?
Anyone know the story behind the plastic v metal construction? OR is pot metal so light it seems like plastic. My knobs could be 67 and I never saved the old 64, done that before.
Thanks
Alan
