C3 72 starter solanoid plastic color

Hi all,
On a LT1 should the solanoid plastic be gray in color.
Mine is black but I herd that it should be a gray plastic.
Wich is right.

I'm not aware of any that were gray. Most likely, yours should be black. However, there were some very dark brown versions starting to be used about that time.

They may have been, but I've seen them on a lot of solenoids without HD "credentials". To my knowledge, they began appearing about 1972 or 73.
