1969 Questions

I have 2 questions regarding my recently purchased 1969 vette.

1. If the vehicle was originally sold in Alberta Canada in December 1969, would it have the typical smog equipment set-up, A.I.R. system, that a US car would have?

2. I have the original GM Canada purchase reciept with the dealer's name and the original buyer's name and signature. If I contact the dealer, are they likely to have and provide any records related to the vehicle? Also, the price show a wopping $8800; I guess Canadian dollars has less value back then also.

1. ALL '69's were equipped with smog.

2. Dealer will probably not have any records. However since it was delivered in Canada, the Ministry of Transportation? will have records.

Since the car was originally sold in Canada, you can get all the original information from General Motors Canada. You can call 1-888-467-6853. The contact person was George Zapora, Vintage Specialist. The fee was $45 and he will send you a package, including the information on the options, shipping date, etc. We are fortunate to have these records available to document the authenticity of cars originally imported into Canada.
