    C2 '67 rocker panels

My rocker panels are showing their age (40+ yrs.). Traces of road tar, chips and generally a faded black.

Should I completely strip the paint prior to re-coating? Or somehow prepare the surface for painting?

I'll take the reminents of tar off, but there are other area where the AL shows thru. Physically, they are in real good shape; not bent or crimped.

    Toughts, tips?

    Thanks.

Strip off the old paint and repaint the panels. you'll get a much better job.
If you have any dings in the aluminum you can work them out with some fine sandpaper or steel wool
