Re: Just add a little Marvel Mystery Oil ...

I don't recall seeing any lately, but I figured it's still out there.

Are you still trolling for magic elixirs?

Where's that "engine overhaul in a can". Where's my flying car?

      Duke------

I've never purchased any and I never intend to. The thing that makes me wonder, though, is the fact that things that don't work usually don't survive very long in the market-place (i.e. no repeat customers). This stuff's been around a LONG time. So, either it does work or they've done a real good job making folks THINK that it works. However, on the latter score, I don't think that I've ever seen an advertisement for this.

One place you can find MMO is at Wal Mart .. It's been said that adding a bit of MMO into the gas tank helps free up and/or keeps carburetor gum deposits in check. The motorcycle guys seem to really love this stuff for just that reason. Some do this for the crankcase oil, then operate the engine a few miles before draining it and replacing with fresh oil. MMO has been around since the 1920's, I believe. ..

Duke, The old timers around her-me included have been using Marvel Mystery oil since the old Ford flathead days. I shot glass or so in a tank full. Clem though mixes it in his old fashions and says it give em good pickup. John

              Re: leaded fuel-NASCAR

Clem, It seems that all of our long lives have been spend discussing the pros and cons of lead. But my family hardly ever used the stuff in any of the cars whether they were big blocks or whatever. Just used the Amoco white gas and never had a problem. You remember how I ran the crap out of the Vette's and most of the time they had Amoco. Never had any problems with the fuel cars or the trucks, etc. Dad was a believer of the Marvel MO though. My friend uses it in his old Ford Model A's and I think I may dump some in the fuel car today just for fun. Heard it's good in Scotch OF's also. John

I have a container on my '40 Ford that is connected to the intake with a vacumn line that meters a very small amount of MMO to the engine. I put a little in the gas tank of all my old cars.

Terry, Today I gave my 63 a shot of MMO too. Just for fun though. Those old flatheads love that stuff. I used to be a flatheads forever boy. Still admire them. John

Duke, I stand to be corrected, but I believe that it was propolyene oxide in the fuel.
