65 sb, Heater hose seals at heater core??

65 sb 350 HP. Is there suppose to be a sponge type seal at the location of where the heater hose connects to the core at the firewall? They slip over the core's copper tubes. I got these in a kit and I also have seen these in the repo. parts catalogs. I put them on and removed them. They look screwy. Anyone. Thanks DG

Dick,

My understanding is they were not used on '65-'67, but possibly on an earlier year. Someone told me perhaps '63.

Dick,
At Kissimee last Jan having my 65 396 car judged I was told that the original cars did NOT come with the sponge seals that I also have. I am sure there might be some more definitive information about.

The only A.I.M. that shows them is '63.

the rubber o-rings, to the best of my knowledge, were only utilized on the 63 heater nipples. here we go again on the nipple issue.is it teat or tit? mike
