    C2 Seat back question.....

My 65 (bright blue) seat backs are original, fair condition...typically loose 2 or 3 points when flight judged. I have called several suppliers and no one makes a replacement (except black) that will pass NCRS judging. Black seat backs are still made using the correct polyethylene and correct dye. Paragon told me that it was too expensive to inventory all of the colors made with the polyethylene.

Is there any process or technique that will restore my original seat backs to the original finish and color?

    Thanks,

    Dwight

You can use interior dyes available from the major reproduction houses. I have used interior dye on my '71 and '67 successfully. Don't remember the supplier.

      Dwight,
Try LICS. They call it an Interior Dye, for vinyl, plastic, metal and fiberglass. I got some for my red '66 seat backs, and it worked well.
