Internal Door restoration 66 Coupe

I'm looking to restore the interior of my 66 Coupe doors. The power windows are running a little slow, the interior latch release on the drivers side is pretty sloppy and the lock on the drivers door is intermittent (sometimes I can unlock it from outside, sometimes, not).

Anyone completely gone through this that can offer any tips or tricks? any gotchas? What are the parts that usually need to be replaced vs refurbished?

I thought I responded once but must have done something wrong here. If you get two response from me with the same info, chalk it up to a mistake.

If your door lock works sometimes from both the interior and exterior lock, I would guess that you don't need anything more than a good cleaning. My 66 had some old grease that had hardened almost to the consistency of gravel. The lock mechanism is held to the door post by three large headed screws. Remove your inner door panel and, with a good light, check out the three connections to the lock. You should have three rods attached to the door lock: one from the outside lock, one from the inside lock, and a third one that releases the door mechanism. Remove each rod and note how and where they attach to the lock assembly. Next, take out the door lock and clean it using your favorite cleaning solvent. Mine took a lot of work with an old toothbrush and lots of solvent to thoroughly clean it all. Then dry it (using high pressure air if possible), re-grease all the moving parts and those parts that slide on other pieces. I used white lithium grease. Re-assembly is just the reverse of taking it apart. Good luck, this isn't a tough one to do.
