88 Restore bad news.

So as it turns out I need a front bumper for a 1988 C4. There is a deformation in mine that can't be fixed. Anyone got any good sources they wanna share for one?? Corvette America has one but I would rather buy one that came off a corvette.

They've all wavy to a degree, so consider that. Also, any bumper on another car is likely to be almost 20 years old and in the same condition. My friend faced this issue with his 1990 ZR-1.

If GM still has them, then look into it. Else someone might make a reproduction. I'm sure that Corvette America doesn't reproduce this bumper themselves, just sells them, and will not be the least expensive vendor out there.

Post a pic so that I can see your bumper cover, so that I can compare it to mine. I have an 88 that I have top- flighted twice.I know that one is as good as they get. The car only has 12k on it.I might also have a source for a good used one, if you need it. Tom

GM #14030201. GM list price is $477.43. Personally, I would not even consider a used piece as long as the new one is still available.

Thanks for the part number. I checked it out and GM says it is discontinued. We did a nationwide search for one and came up empty. So the search goes on.
