While driving my 62 home from winter storage today,i had a short in my generator.when it quit at a stop light i pushed it off the highway,[about 10 minutes from downtown St Louis] and left my friend Jerry B with it while I went home to get my trailer. In 45 minutes not one car stopped to help. when i returned and we were trying to push the car onto the trailer one red corvette about a 80 or 81 drove past and didnt even wave let alone offer to help.after a few minutes of pushing Bob J came to help and finaly a stranger in a Chevy pickup stopped and we got it loaded. I guess all Corvette drivers are not as helpful as N.C.R.S. peeople.

Re: no help!!!
I dunno, Bill. In today's day and age if I get stranded at the side of the road I think the only kind of car I want to stop to help is one painted black and white with a lightbar on the roof. You just never know. Maybe we should all upgrade our Corvettes with the portable cell phone accessory. Damn the points loss.

Re: no help!!!
Are you sure you have a 62 Bill? I've never heard of such a thing as a 62 malfunctioning. As far as the wave and help is concerned, I've concluded that C4 and C5 owners are not as "chummy" as us "real" Corvetters. Try waving the middle finger at the next C4 that goes by, or better yet, the next C4 you see broken down on the side of the road. That'll clear the air!

Re: no help!!!
Wish I had read this after lunch ...It is a sad commentary on our worl that people are so afraid to help. If it makes you feel any better, I've provided assistance to more than one stranded motorist(not all Vette owners tho!) STW, Mike- Top
