I have a choke rod GM part number 3896970. Can anyone confirm it application?? Was the choke rod for the 390 hp quadra the same as used on the small blocks?? If someone has a picture of a 390 hp choke pull off rod, that would be great. Thanks, Terry

GM #3896970 was used for all 68-69 small block applications. It was also used for 67-69 passenger car small block applications. I don't think that the same rod was used for big blocks, but I can't confirm that.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -

That is a drag.... Well, I was hoping it was for bbc also. I have some drawings of an original but not to scale. The tech bulletin indicates there is an early and a late version. This NOS one uses a hair pin clip but the repros have a different style of clip. I wonder if that is original configuration or not?? I have to do some more digging. Hopefully, someone with an original car will respond. TerryComment
