Water Pump Identification

I have what I believe is a 1957 Corvette Water Pump. The following numbers appear on the casting. If possible please identify. Many thanks for the help!

E26 (front)
GM 15 (front)
3782608 (front) The 3 is slightly damaged and may be something else.
15 (back side)

The GM #3782608 was never originally used for a 1957 Corvette. A GM #3736493 was used for 1957 Corvettes.

The GM #3782608 was first used for the 1961 model year in passenger cars and for 1962 in some Corvettes (base, L-75). Dates for '608' castings began in first quarter, 1964. Since the one you have is dated (E26), this pump was cast on May 2, 1966. By 1976, this casting was out-of-production.

The GM #3782608 and 3736493 are somewhat similar in configuration, though.

That pump was not used in 62 on any Corvette--the 609 was used rather than the 608. I think we may have caught Joe in a rare typo regarding the year.
