C2 Clutch fork paint

Was the clutch fork on a 66 427/390 painted orange? How much of the fork was painted? In other words, if painted, was the area inside the boot also painted? Thanks for your help.

Clutch arm is orange. Overspray (if you are into sloppiness) is on boot.

The fork was in place (without the boot) when the engine was painted, and may show orange paint or overspray; the boot was installed later at St. Louis.

Hey John, I got cited for no overspray on the boot at Kissimmee. Got to remember that at the next meet.....
What held the arm in place during engine shipment? Transmission was mated at St Louis, correct? How about throwout bearing, as its called out in the AIM as an assy.

The judge that "dinged" you on the "no-overspray-on-the-boot" issue needs some more training. One should get "dinged" if there IS paint on the boot.

The only thing that held the clutch fork in place was the flat retaining spring that snaps over the fork pivot ball. The throwout bearing was lubed and installed at St. Louis.
