Yep, mine had the three hooks, but I used a liquid wrench and cut the two off that I will never use. They just got in the way.

I can't take full credit. I stole the picture off Corvette Forum in a thread on tying down a Corvette.

      There were two good threads.

      Trailering a C2

      Trailering a C3

Both had a link to a website about trailering and tying down your Corvette.

I would like to add a note about criss-crossing tie down chains or straps in an enclosed trailer. If you can have them pulling straight forward and straight back it is better. If you cross them and one breaks or comes loose, the tension on the other one and the slight rocking motion of the car in the trailer (and they do move a little) will pull the car to one side. I have seen this many times at car shows. A guy opens his trailer and the car is against the inside wall. I drove tractor trailers,(car haulers) transporting new cars from assembly plants to dealers for 35 years, and this is the correct way to do it. I also have a car and have trailered it over 25,000 miles to and from shows and even if the straps loosen up the car stays straight in the trailer. Just thought someone might be interested.

Randy; I would have to respectfully disagree. I drove "big rigs" for years, pulling both flatbed and double drop trailers hauling almost anything you can imagine. Anytime I hauled something on wheels/ tracks I ALWAYS crossed the tiedowns. Angleing the attachment provides side to side stability and increases control of the object. Car haulers were purpose built to include the tiedown method. On a flat surface (covered or open) trailer I would criscross my tiedowns. IF a tiedown were to break or come loose, as soon as the tension on the oposite tiedown was gone the vehicle would be loose on that end, not pulled to one side (and crossing the tiedowns on the other end might just be enough to hold it straight). Now, the factory tiedowns might not lend themselves to criscrossing as they were intended to be transported on "car haulers". Having said all this I have seen almost as many different tiedown methods as there are truck drivers, so, to each their own. John

John, I have to agree with you. I have hauled everything from Corvettes to dozers. I was taught to always cross your chains. Crossing also has the tendency to pull the load down also.
