Dates for T-top bags should be on the inside...month (dash) year; there may be other letters identifying supplier like TEX. If you don't find the date inside, I wouldn't despair; they're most likely the original bags...if they aren't dated, there ain't no need to get "twisted off" IMO.

      Denny,
I would expect the dates to look very much like my '69 T-top bags dated January 1969 pictured below.

That stamp is what I think is when the material was made. I have seen a small stamp with the date.

          Lyle,

Thanks for the info. I'll need to reinspect the bags for a stamped date. Mine are from my '69 one previous owner with whom I work. Bags were rarely used by him and were safely stored in the rear window tray.

No doubt if that date is correct for your Corvette and their is no small stamp yours are not the only bags without it. The small stamp looks to me like it was put on with one of those small hand stamps that could be set to any date. Incoming mail was stamped by the secretary with one in the old days.

              Re: denny 72 up date

The printed date on the lining of bags was the date the material was manufactured. Assembly date is as described by Lyle: e. g. March 20, 1971, on a stamp that was changed with wheels. (Those of us old enough remember when library books and some paid bills were stamped this way.)

So this stamp is very small and would this be in a corner? man it has to be small and faint.

Window stickers were on passenger side.

As I remember that stamp is about 3/16 high and total length about 1". It can be anywhere on the insde and if the bags have been wet it may not be their and many have no stamped date if they ever had one.

Just to throw some stuff int he discussion: The dealer put mine on the driver's side, but mine was installed by the dealer. Not all window stickers were installed at St. Louis. Early cars were sent to the dealer without the window sticker so that the cars could not be sold before introduction day. The window sticker (more properly called the Maroney label) was mailed to the dealer so that it would arrive on new car introduction day.
