I tend to like it, for a number of reasons, chiefly that the impressions have worn rather than sharp & fresh edges. Now I suppose there's some acid etch process that could replicate that look... Really need ~10X to see what the surface microstructure looks like though.

The stamps look just like my orig blocks . cant tell about the broach marks to much rust . and that matches the rust on the heads . the dates are the same as 17845. from what I can see it looks good.Bill

I guess if you are determining if it is real for an appraisel, then you need it. But 10x is a bit much for normal appearance of factory work.
