1953-55 barn find in leased house

We did a move in inspection of a house we have leased in Renton, WA today. To our surprise, the former residents -- two young male room mates -- had cleared out most all of their stuff and gotten the carpets cleaned. There was one large item still in the garage -- a 1953 to 1955 Corvette in desperate need of restoration. I'm an M class BMW driver, not a Corvette expert. But it would be interesting to know how to tell exact year and rough value of this classic. We took digital pictures of the car and can send a few to any interested parties.

The property manager thinks the 'vette may belong to the homeowner, not the former residents. In any case, we would rather have the storage space then the restoration project. ;-)

same situation in St.Louis

Five years ago..I found the exact same situation in St.Louis..Father owner died...daughter heir..still has the car sitting in the basement garage of the fathers apartment complex. 1955 Corvette..I went to see it...needs restored but the real deal.

Was still there as of a few months ago.

There was a 1953 Corvette somewhere in Washington state that was featured in Corvette News..would interesting if this new find is that car.

The washington 54 and 53

I think I know about both of the cars, the 1954 is owned by a lady in her 60s she has alot of rental property in and close to seattle, I think she said 25 - 40 rentals, she acted like she wanted to sell the car about 3-4 years ago when I said OK she went backwards and only wanted to know its value....I never went and looked.
The 1953 is in Western washington I looked at it about 3 weeks ago WOW!! one 80+ year old owner, when I uncovered it I thought it was another 54...Wrong the car is all there...the owner wants to remain private..Thanks JOHN

does your lease specifically include use of the garage? if not i would leave well enough alone. if i was the property owner and i had a tenant broadcasting what they found on my property i would not be very happy. key word is i leased not bought. just my opinion,bill
