Pedal to the metal, ( fiberglass ), wrong Pedal

Thanks to all that posted suggestions regarding my ongoing brake situation yesterday. I now have a new Delco master cylinder, followed the correct brake bleeding sequence, ( by pedal, vacuum and gravity ) I still have no pedal. There is no evidence of leaking fluid anywhere in the system. I am open to any suggestions from all the Corvette brake experts out there. I am totally out of ideas.

    Have a good weekend guys.

    Jerry,

Only other place for problem like this that I can think of is bad distribution block. The brass block that mounts on the frame to the front of the steering box. Do you get a "brake" light when the pedal goes to the floor?

If that distribution block is leaking internally I think this could be the symptoms.

Kripes Jerry, plug the outlet of the MC and see if it's any good!

      Varooom!

Do you have absolutely no pedal? Or will it apply/hold the brakes but only at the very end of travel? Does it have PB? If so, try the booster.

          Jerry..wanna sell the car?

I'll buy it, no brakes and all, course ya gotta make allowance for bad brakes.

Well, it is obvious you still have air in the lines. As you were power bleeding, did ya pound on the caliper w/a dead hammer to disslodge any air pockets? I pressume you bled both rear halves?

I found out the best way is to gravity bleed and pound on the caliper. Fill two baby jars w/fluid, replenish the MC, move on to the other half of the caliper, fill two baby jars w/ fluid, move to the other caliper, and repeat, then do the fronts. I know gravity takes a long long time, but it has always worked for me. get a clear plastic tube and watch the fluid for any air bubbles.

          Good luck

            Jerry,

I had a low brake problem on my son's 69 . Drove me even more crazy than I already am! I found the screw that holds the piston assy together in the m/c had loosened. As a result one side would allow full fluid return while the other maintained some pressure. This created an imbalance front to rear and a low pedal. I tightened the screw and gravity bled. Solid pedal for the last 6k miles since last October .

I'm leaving for Daytona Sat AM. Need help?

              Simple Solution, simply infuriating...

              Hi Guys:

Thank you all for the much needed advice.

After about 1 pint shy of two GALLONS of brake fluid I have brakes on my 69. In the end I tried everything but pressure bleeding and I GUARANTEE that next time I will have a pressure bleeding setup,( anyone know what they cost? ), this was the most aggravating problem I have encountered in my 28 years in the hobby.

The end result was simply trapped air, but who would have thought it would be so extreme and difficult to resolve.

I almost wish I had a bit more esoteric explanation but that's it.

get a pressure bleeder or be very patient and buy a lot of fluid.
