I have owned a 1967 base engine powerglide convertible for the last 15 years or so and have been slowly (very slowly) restoring the car. I hope to have the car flight judged upon completion but am concerned that there may be an issue with my engine pad stamping - the vin stamping is upside down to the norm. The engine assembly stamping is in the normal orientation. I have searched the archives about this and found two posts: Mike Murray 8/8/05 mentions that upside down vin stamping has been "authenticated" and Tim Gilmore 8/5/05 describes a 67 powerglide with an upside down vin that he witnessed. I would appreciate any information that other members could offer. I have attempted to post three pics of the car's pad stamping on a yahoo picture site (hope it works)
