need hub caps

A friend and I while driving around came across some hub caps on a side road , had a sign saying (selling caps), he had to may to count and some late Corvettes, when we tried to buy he said no on every one we looked at even non-corvette , I think he was a collector not a seller, offered me $40.00 for mine. Nice trip anyway, I love driving our 55 with our friend and his 56. We understand why other C1's aren't on the road, but thier good trailer haulers and were not trailer queens !
We get a chuckle when we meet other C1 owners that look at use like were nuts or don't think we know what there worth.We both decided not to store them for some one els , because you only go around once in life!

Ray I have enjoyed my 70 for over 36 years, soon to be 37. Was not to long ago that I borrowed my neighbors trailor and hauled home 4 double door tall metal storage cabinets to use in the garage. I pulled the trailor with my 70. I have friends with pick-ups, but why ask when you can do it yourself. Back in 71 or 72 when my brother was in the Army I towed his 55 sedan with the 55's motor in the trunk about 300 miles to my place and rebuilt his engine and installed it so he could take it to Fort Bragg.

I bought my 55 apart! Now over 24 years ago and at the time it was restored back to original with the idea to have a new original 55 Corvette , not a NCRS Corvette, and a week after restoring the 55 my wife and I took a trip to NY putting 8K miles on it and pulling a tear drop trailer . It now shows 114,000 miles and still going strong . Never thought to enter it but in 05 it took a top flight, so see you can drive a Corvette and still compete .
