    Chemical paint stripping

Having the final chore of removing 3 layers of paint on my '55, I used a fiberglass safe stripper on the door jambs and dash. The instuctions call for a plastic scraper to remove the sludge, I found a plain old wooden popsicle stick was super for all the intricate curves and corners in those areas. If gloved up properly to avoid burns, the stick also makes a good wide scraper as well. No nicks or scrapes on the glass either. Came off slick.

Mike, The plastic spreaders for body fillers also work very well. Make sure that you wash the area that was stripped with warm soapy water. I used a stiff bristle brush for this process. I then used Scotch Brite pads soaked in lacquer thinner and then washed the car for a second time.

    Good luck
