While cleaning the front parking lights I noticed that the gasket under the lens was a light gray color and little dirty. Since I was having a hard time cleaning the gaskets and had an order going out - I ordered 2. The replacement gaskets were black not light gray. Some repro houses do have the grays, however.
A look at the 3 NOS lights I have all show a black gasket. SO0oo for a Mar64 car what would be the correct color and more important what is the story behind the color.
Other Comment;
A little update on my past questions on the parking light. It appears that 63 had the black wire cover that also covered the connector (its one piece). Additionally the lens screws had holes which came through to the back - after that a blind hole was cast into the light. It was felt that the black wire cover with the boot end was also dropped at that time. (Info from Michael Hanson) However mine has the blind holes and booted cover. Yet another 63/64 question.
Thanks Alan
