    C2 hardtop weatherscrews

What is a source for a complete set of hardtop weatherstrip attaching screws? And, what kind of cement/sealant should I use at the header for both the stainless trim and the weatherstrip? Finally, where do I get the screws and matching clips that attach the weatherstrip/moulding at the rear that sits on the rear deck?

Check out Glassworks @ http://www.thehardtopshop.com/ They gave a great seminar @ Carlisle. I am just finishing my 67 HT and called them about the weatherstrip. They rec. "rope caulk" like you could get at Home Depot etc. The only stuff I found was too hard and grey. Ended up looking for the black 3M caulk rec by the TDB here and my bodyshop source found another brand but it worked great. You want something black and that will not "set-up" or harden.

Thank you, Bob. What did you do about replacing the weatherstrip mounting screws--the machine screws, the little 'stubby' ones, etc? Does anyone sell a kit? Finally, what holds the rear mounting bolts inside the slot attached to the rear of the hardtop? The diagram I saw appears to rely on tension from a spring retainer inside the keyhole, but my bolts just fall out. It appears very difficult to install this spring. Don't mean to pick your brain, but I'd appreciate your help.

Larry, try Auto Entec at www.autoentec.com for all components. The owner is Teodore Kokolis. He was the owner of the other company in the post till a family matter disrupted thinks.

Also try Mortite weatherstip and caulking. You can get it at Lowes. It's about $6.00 for 90 feet. It is gray and comes in a role. It is best to install it on a warm day in the sun or get it warm and soft first.

        Good Luck

Thanks, Harry. I found just what I needed (and couldn't have done it without your help (since I had already checked every supplier that I was familiar with). Knowing you can get the parts is what makes a project click!

            Larry,

The spring retainers in mine were good as were the screws. As I recall from the seminar, replacing the tensioning piece is a pain in the tail. It is available as per above. Call & talk to both recommended & see what they say...
