I need to replace a nylon gear in my '62s speedo assy. First I need to remove the needle. Anyone know how? Don't have time to wait 4+ weeks for rebuild. Thanks.

Re: C1 speedo needle
you hold the needle from the back with a pair of needle nose pliers. and gently pry the front of the needle off. Sometimes you need to pry with a small screwdriver it depands how long the needle has been on there. you have to be very gentle, not to break the stem. I strongly suggest do this only if you have some mechanical ability. if you rush the removal you will break off the back.- Top

Re: C1 speedo needle
To remove the speedo needle grasp the shaft with a needle nose plier and while gently pulling up twist the needle clockwise. To install position needle at around 10 oclock and twist counter clockwise while gently pushing down stopping at the first hash mark. These instructions are from one of the old AC speedo or tach head kits that are no longer available. Rich # 2272- Top
