Midyear hood shims

I saw a posting in the archives that stated that it was not unusual for the factory to add shims under the hood hinges on a midyear to fix the alignment of the hood to the fenders. I didn't think that shims were added here? I do not think that the AIM makes reference to hood shims.

My 67 has what appears to be original shims under the hood hinges (on the fender)

My unrestored 1965 coupe has two small shims on the left side. Send me an email message and I'll send you a picture of them.

Dave, Long Island lists the shims in two different thicknesses. When my '63 was first restored many years ago it had shims from the factory. I have one of the old rusty ones around here. The repro shims are zincad. I don't know if the originals were plated or not. John
