What is the proper way to install this weatherstrip? I got it in twice and it falls out. Is glue used? Help. Thanks.

Re: 1970 rear bow weatherstrip
I had that very same problem with my 71. I could not figure how to get it in and have it stay. I called Al Knoch and he said it would "pop" right in. I looked at it again and realized what he was saying. The end of the weatherstrip that goes into the metal channel on the bow does not go in straight in. It goes in on it's side and rolls in with the cord in the middle of the roll. It is hard to explain, but just take the part of the weatherstrip you are trying to force to stay in and lay it sideways(parallel to the bow pocket instead of perpendicular), cup it with the cord in the middle of the cupped area, and it will slip right in. I spent hours trying to figure how to get it in. Once I figured it out, I had it installed in five minutes.- Top
