68 435 pad evaluation & Houston area resource

I have a friend interested in a 68 435 conv. in the Houston area. While he has several newer vettes, this is his first vintage purchase. I told him about the NCRS & that there may be someone in Houston area that would be willing to check it out with him for a fee. Tom O'Grady from TX chapter rec. Houston Cor. Service.
    1) Any other recommendations (he is going there this Thursday)?

I told him about the 67 "issues" and doubt that someone would go to those lengths in a 68, but...
    2) I have a pic of the pad area so if anyone comments on it, it would be very appreciated.

    3) Also, if there is any feeback on dealer called Corvettes & Classics? They have been very good so far via phone.

    Thanks,
    Bob

From what I can tell, the numbers look acceptable, however, a better photo would reveal a lot more. Cannot see if the pad has the proper broach marks.

I suspected that it wasn't close enough. He has asked for a better one.
      Thanks

Where in the Houston area? I'm on the southeast side out towards the bay.

Bob, I have purchased parts from the shop that you ask about. They have a small inventory of parts that I imagine are for their own use or collection but they did let go of something I needed.

They usually have a varied inventory of cars as you can see from their website. I have never looked at one of their Corvette offerings from a thorough NCRS perspective, e,g, TIM&JG in hand, however, I have observed some cars that appear complete, well done and documented. A friend bought a special built '32 Highboy from them that had been one of the B.F. Goodrich? / Goodyear? "centerfold" cars that was built to feature several supplier's products. Another friend bought a Chevelle or Chevy II with a monster engine. I have not purchased a car from them.

          Best regards,
          Charlie
