    C4 Mufflers

I have acquired 2 NOS mufflers for my '88.
They have the correct GM part #'s on them.
14105111 and 14105112. They are painted black.
Is the black paint correct for the model year?
The vehicle is not an anniversary edition by the way.
    It is a Z52 coupe.

Black paint is correct for your mufflers. That's exactly how the original mufflers installed on the car were painted. It should be sort of a low gloss black paint.

What brand/kind of paint is recommended for touch up on mufflers?

I like "barbeque black" paint for mufflers. It's just about the right sheen level and it resists high heat (higher, even, than the mufflers are ever going to get). I use DeRusto (DAP) or Rustoleum brands.
