    Engine Cleaning

Could someone please recommend the best product or solvent in which to clean the engine and under undercarriage? I used one of the degreaser sprays, but they are very harmful for the hoses etc. Are the citrus sprays (P21S) any good?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Best,
    Rob

Simple Green is very non invasive-it won't hurt a thing.

I start with a little Dawn Dishwashing liquid and I use simple green, when I need something with a little more power. I keep a spray bottle with nothing but distilled water in it to rinse off what I just cleaned. lots of clean rags. Eric

Be careful with straight Simple Green on bare aluminum if it's warm, it's corrosive and will etch the aluminum. Also be careful with your exterior paint, it will strip any wax.

              Rob,

Your local Honda motorcycle dealer should have a product called Hondabrite. I believe it is a P21S product or the likes of packaged in their container. I've used it for years and works great if you don't have any heavy buildup.

I've had good results with 409. Continue to rinse it off with more 409, instead of water until you're happy with the results. Not using water will eliminate causing any surface rust on any bare steel present. If you buy concentrate 409 you can choose how strong to mix it.

I'm also a big fan of Super Clean, you can get it in gallon jugs at WM for around 8 bucks. Don't get it on the paint.
