Info on Point deductions

Thanks for the great help on another post. You guys are awesome.

One more question. Where can I find a book on how many points are deducted for incorrect parts. Does one incorrect bolt marking have the same deduction as an incorrect tranny? I assume not, so is there a book that shows point deductions per part.

Brian,

To answer your question, an incorrect transmission would receive a different deduction than a single incorrect bolt. However, if you do not have them already, I would suggest you purchase the Judging Reference Manual as well as the Judging Guide for your particular model year(s). These publications will help you to understand the standard by which a car is judged. The reference manual will explain how judging works regarless of year, the standard deductions, etc, while the JG will attempt to outline some of the specifics to observe for that model year.

Roy Sinor, the National Judging Lead can forward you .pdf copies of the scoring sheets which breaks down the scoring across operations, chassis, mechanical interior, and exterior, and major subsections therein. Points are awarded based on condition and originality matrix.

Thank you. Yes, I have the 1967 Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide. 4th Edition. I will contact Roy for the scoring sheet.
