    Advice re gas

    What gas should I use for a 63 327/340 engine? Thanks to all that respond.

    Top quality, premium, pump gas should do the trick for you. In some sections of the nation, you can get 94 octane (R+M/2) and in other places the max premium blend is rated lower in octane. Out here in the Rocky Mtn's, our max pump blend runs 92 octane, but at our altitude it isn't a major factor...

      I have to add 1 bottle of 108 octane to every 5-7 gallons of gas in my big block to keep her from backfiring? Sounds stupid... but it works

      She was kind of built for speed though!

      NCRS brothers.....don't fear the hot rod!!! The correct #'s matching L-71/435 block is going back in as soon as I am finished building it....

        My factory stock '65 L78 runs just fine on pump gas...
