Hi all,
Sorry, I don't know how to attach a link, but check out this '65 395 on e bay; item number 110097507041.
I count about 15 incorrect items in the engine compartment.
I called the seller and here's what he did not know; casting date of block, head numbers or casting date, exhaust casting numbers or date, trans numbers/date, rear end numbers/date, weather or not the TI system was in place, dist. tag info, etc., etc.,

And with all of what he didn't know, he's asking $84,500.00!!???

I do not profess to be an expert on tags, but a 2716 body on an April car. I would think that the body would be closer to 4,800=5,000. I tried to enlarge the photo but apparently it was photographed with a low resolution camera

The tag number is reasonable. I have pictures of a real 396 tag late april car with 2930 as the number (st.louis car)

Mark, you must have a convertible

which is roughly double the body # of coupes (either S-source or A-source)

I had an A-coupe VIN 12555 with H9, A-2215 tag
Also had an A-convertible VIN 16524 with I22, A-5314 (or maybe the 3's an

George, as a retired auto dealer, I would strongly recommend that when considering a purchase of any Corvette on eBay, I would only buy if, as the seller, I had the opportunity to "pass" on the car after a personal, detailed inspection, fully understanding that if you pass, you would lose a reasonable deposit to hold the car. For example, I will be selling a 47,000 mile numbers matching 1966 Chevelle SS396, that requires a $500 immediate cash deposit to purchase. The deposit separates serious buyers from "tire kickers", and "talkers". The deposit applies towards the purchase, yet if the buyer decides to pass the car up upon inspection, the deposit covers all expenses of offering the car on ebay, that now cost an easy, over $100. The deposit shouldn't kill a serious buyer, yet gives an outlet for "buyer's remorse", or discovery of a faked or cloned rare car.

Ridge,
I have no intention of purchasing this car. I'm only an hour or so from the car, and I won't waste my time looking at it; I've seen enough.
The purpose of my post was twofold:

1) For others to see how much is wrong with the car, and

2) I find it difficult to understand why someone would advertise such a vehicle (at such a price), without knowing any casting numbers, date codes, etc..
