    Why not join the NCRS???

    Hi All,

Unfortunately we get no incentives to recruit NCRS members... just personal pride!

After 30+ years, I just absolutely cannot understand how someone with a "Classic Corvette" would not want to invest a MEASLY $30 ($35 Canada/$55 Overseas Foreign) to join the NCRS and learn from everything NCRS members have accomplished during the last 26 years.

You would not believe the number of phone calls/emails/faxes that we receive from people who think our opinion is worth it's weight in gold, but don't quite have the $30 to join the NCRS...

    I'm asking for help.

Members: what caused you to send in the $30 and join the NCRS?

Non-Members: what is holding you back?

    Thanks,

    Eric Mortimer, proud NCRS member.

Re: Why not join the NCRS???

        Eric,

Just kidding on the incentive thing

I joined the NCRS in 1990, but didn't even buy my 71 until 1994. I joined at the time primarily, believe it or not, because it was a Corvette orgaization that didn't even require owning a Corvette! In addition, I wanted to learn more about older Corvettes both for my own future use as well as to satisfy my curiosity. I then started judging in 1992, and haven't stopped since.

The cost of the membership, both locally and nationally, has been more than paid for by what I have learned in the past 10 years as well as what this discussion format has saved me in mistakes and diagnostic assistance. At the $50/year total, it is cheap insurance for my Corvette!

Many people think that you should join only if you re getting your car judged, and that the other benefits such as publications, discount books, etc. aren't worth much. I would have to say that as someone who has never had a Corvette judged, the regular publications are without equal in our hobby, and that thanks to the discounts I likely have purchased books that I otherwise would not have.

        Keep at 'em, Eric!
