    '55 plug wire "looms"

Can anyone post a good photo of the two brackets / holders that are bolted to the block of a '55 and hold the braided plug wires? I may fabricate a set while I look for the real items. Thanks in advance.

Hello, Do you want pictures of them installed or uninstalled? I have several pictures of them on the car, but I'll have to check and see if I have any before I put them on the car. What number is your car? I have been restoring # 68 for about 2 years. The previous owner had started restoring it in 1991, and it also was a race car for a while. You can see mine on the C1 registry at C1registry.com. I've still got some to do on it.

Fenwick, thanks for the reply! On the car is fine, for now, I just want to fabricate something close to keep the wires in place. My car is number 175, I have had it since I was in college, it was a drag car when I got it, 30 years later, I finally getting it back to driver status. Mine is also on C1 regisrty, I just posted some pics of the rebuild on my page.

        With...

a few good photos and some measurements, you should be able to brake up a set which would pass anybody except maybe Roy.

          Re: With...

In the last two years, I saw one set on Ebay that looked to be fabricated, not the real McCoy, they wanted $150.00 for what I thought was a fake. I'll bend my own fakes and tack weld a bracket and call it good until the real deal comes around.

Some one does repro them , not perfect but most judges dont know how to tell!
Number one the repro's brackets are soldered on where the original's are spot welded on. Plus other little things!

                      Sad to

say $150 for real ones would be a great deal, these things are not exactly common. On the other hand, if you are handy with sheetmetal, you could probably make a pair that would fool almost anyone, and for sure they would work.
