The picture below is of my fan motor. In response to another post, I learned that this is probably not a 63 motor. Does anyone recognize this as perhaps a later application?

Steve, a 63 fan looks as if it is covered with undercoating. They look rather messy, but that is what a 63 had. Can't tell what you have.

looks to be a generic. as Harry stated, 63 fan motors were undercoated.find a used 63 undercoated fan motor or get a used 64 thru 67 motor and give it a thick coat of readily available undercoating. chevy pass cars of the 60's may also have the motor you need. mikeComment

Steve, the 63 motor, condenser and wiring harness are all unique to 63 and have a round "pin connector" instead of the flat blade style used in 64 and later. Looks like the new motor has the 64 and later flat blade style connector. Hope you don't chop the original 63 only harness to convert to the later style connector. - From Michael.

The harness is new. I don't plan to remove anything, but I would like to find out how to hook up this motor correctly. I may change the motor to correct 63 later. I got a note from Jack Humphrey, knower of all things electrical, so I'll see what I can learn.
