    63 heater blower moter connection

The wiring diagram shows an orange wire connected to the heater fan motor. There is an orange wire (whose end is a pin with a rubber boot) in the harness, but I can't find the place on the motor where it is supposed to connect. Must be overlooking something obvious.

Attached is a photo fof my set up. The only connection that I can see is the blade that the black/black-****e pair connects to.

          Steve,
I think you may have the wrong motor. Mine is has an Oct. 62 build date and looks nothing like yours. The male blade connector is mounted to one of the attachment screws that hold the motor to the box. The female connector for the orange wire male connector is on the side of the motor facing the distibutor.
The motor also comes closer the the edge of the mounting flange than the one one you have pictured and there in no plug on the flange. Hope this helps.

Thanks. That would explain it. What you describe fits the wiring diagram in the AIM.

I appreciate your patience, but have a couple of other questions. Where would the resistor connect to the motor? And, do you have a part number for the resistor?

Re: 63 heater blower moter connection

1963 Corvette used another 1-year only part and that's the base car heater blower motor. The wiring connection to the motor was unique and service replacement was performed by swapping the blower motor for the '64 and up style motor with a slide-on, spade lug style power terminal and modifying the wiring harness by cutting and discarding the factory original style butt connector to agree with the later style blower motor pin out...
