Bob Cannon Paris

Just got notice today that Bob Cannon Paris of Cannon's Corvettes died. Bob was a good friend and customer. He often told me that he was a vendor at the Carlisle shows since the first show. He reproduced the frames, etc. I understand he has a partner to carry on the business.
Bob had never been married. You would have thought he would have lived to be a 100. Oh well. Another Corvette friend gone. RIP Bob, John D.

Jerry Clark

A longtime Corvette Restorer and friend to many on this board has also passed today. He will join his lovely wife who preceded him two years ago. Goodbye to a friend who went out of his way to find parts and help me many times when I was working on my 67 let alone write every time my daughter was hospitalized asking if there was anything he could do. Had one of the best times of my adult life at his house in Florida.

Bob was a great guy. He was from Long Island but currently lived in Norfolk, VA. His shop, rather large and extensive, is in Moyock, NC. He will be missed, as John said, a Carlisle regular.

I'm saddened to hear of Jerry's passing.

We had lost contact over the years, and now I regret that I never got to know him well. I suppose that is the lament of many that survive those they knew. Jerry was handicapped his entire life well beyond what many could endure, yet he continued to fight the good fight. I pray he will awaken in the arms of our Lord one day with a perfect body.

I will never forget Jerry either. He didn't even know me but helped me a lot, including using his business contacts to help me get parts for my 67 restoration. Called us all his Corvette buddies.

I'm truly saddened to hear of Jerry's passing - he was simply a wonderful human being who'd give you the shirt off his back, and endured more serious medical problems with grace and perseverance than any of us can imagine. Rest in peace, Jerry, we all loved you and Marti; may the two of you meet up again in a better place.

Sad news for sure, only knew him for a short period but it felt like a life time.

While in Orlando this past Jan. I heard this unmistakeable roar it was Bryan Lee driving King Ray with Jerry in the passenger seat, he could feel the eyes on him as he was grinning from ear to ear. It was good to see & speak with him 1 more time. God Bless you Jerry. Tell Marti we said hello.

I hate to hear of Bobs passing. He could be very cantankerous to deal with but he really knew his parts and had a lot of them plus the only frame jig I know of in North Carolina. I usually visited him whenever I went to Norfolk. He will be missed here.

That was a great road trip in King Ray to Orlando from Jerry's shop with him riding shotgun. I was damn happy to be chosen to be in the left seat. He was very proud of that car as he should have been. It is a total animal. He kept calling me a wuss 'cause I wasn't getting on it but I was putting around not wanting to abuse his car. When we got off 192 and onto 27 going back home we finally got a little break in the traffic and I romped on that 572 and wound it up in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and we were probably going 120+ with I shifted into 5th and it was still pulling like a freight train. I looked over at him and he was all giddy and happy like a little kid.

That's the Jer I'll remember. He was kind of grumpy some days but he would absolutely give you his last cent and was always willing to help in any way he could.

He will be missed.

Phil etal, Yes Bob will be missed. Yes he could be a little canterous but he really knew Corvettes. Bob always came up to my trailer and we chatted for hours. I learned much more than I wanted to about frame construction.
One time he came to me and said he was in trouble because he lost a check for another vendor. He was so upset. (This was last year) Meanwhile I was cleaning the trailer with a shop vac and wouldn't you know I found Bob's check albeit a tad late. Still have an FI here that I was supposed to restore for him. Oh well. That's one less to do. Yes we will miss Bob Paris. Jerry also. And all our other friends that have left us way too early. Take care, John

Hi John I hear ya I just talk to him before I went to the FL show Andy was down at his shop tryin to buy some Z06 stuff so Bob called me to double check the prices. I could tell ya a hundred stories and I will! Iam just glad my son Philip had the chance to know Bob for a number of years they hit it off esp when Philip got to 6 foot 2 the two of them would give me a hard time me at 5'7 sorry got to go!
