    spare tire bolts

I have the 8inch rear bolt and the 9 5/8 front bolts with a 65 steel wheel and firestone deluxe champion 775 15 ,now ,i know i should have the 7inch rear and 9 1/4 front bolts ,but my question is that when i use what i have and titan it up, you can only push the cover up maybe another 1/4 inch or so,
if i go with the 7inch and 9 1/4 inch bolts , will the tire still fit it seems to me it will be very tight especially torward the front of the car .anyone else run into something like this .

    Jim -

Changing the front and rear hanger bolts won't change how the tire fits in the tub - it'll just alter the attitude of the tray; most original tubs won't accommodate current reproduction 7.75-15 tires, as they're larger in diameter than the original 7.75-15 tires were.
