62 T-10 3rd to 2nd downshift

Transmission is freshly rebuilt by an "expert". Linkage is new and appears to be correctly adjusted. All upshifts and all other downshifts are spot on. The only difficulty is that it does not want to downshift into 2nd from 3rd. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I'd say that it's some kind of a synchro problem. Do you know how the small synchro teeth were on 2nd gear? Sometimes, worn teeth will work "ok" with similarly worn brass synchro rings. However, if NEW synchro rings are installed on badly worn gear synchro teeth, problems like this can ensue.

Why don't you take it back to the "expert" and have him fix it?
