Mirror re-silvering

I just found a business here in the Detroit area that will re-silver original day night and side view mirror glass. If keeping your glass original is important, the name is Frank Wright Glass, Detroit MI 313-521-1888. He quoted me $45 for interior rear view mirror (which is not dated and a replacement can be purchased new from Paragon for $40). This may not pay but for a dated side view mirror it would since the dating on reproduction mirrors is somewhat smaller and fainter than original- at least that's what I found to be true. Maybe this will help someone out there.

Jeff, do they require you to diassemble the mirrors or should one assume that they can this too? Do you know?

The glass has to be out of the mirror but this is a very easy procedure whether it is a C-2 or C-3 side view mirror or interior rear view mirror. For both, see past articles in Restorer or other magazines. I can get you copies if you can't find any.

Thanks for the offer but I have the ability, the Restorer articles and know-how to do this. I just wondered if it required disassemly.
