70-72 interior trim piece

I was wondering if the "rear quarter trim extension" piece, which for a simpler name, is the shoulder belt retractor cover, is the same from 70-72. I have a 1970 and am missing them and want to know what will be asthetically-correct.

If you have a coupe, the trim pieces were the same from 1970 through 1972. At least, the part numbers were the same. There may have been some "nuancical" difference that I'm not aware of, but the parts should be essentially the same.

For convertibles, I think that the situation is, essentially, the same. The same panels were used in PRODUCTION for 1970 and 1972. GM shows that a different panel was used for 1971. However, I'm not so sure that this panel was ever actually used. In any event, the panels from the other years should be 100% interchangeable with only minor differences, if there are any, at all.

Keep in mind that when it comes to 100% correct and original configuration for any given model year, there may be some minor differences even in parts of the same part number, but used for other years or SERVICE parts originating from another period. There are many reasons for this. So, I would not say that any panel will garner you 100% of the judging points. On the other hand, they may.
