1962 T-10 Leak

I have a leak where the reverse idler shaft lock pin enters the case. Any thoughts about how to fix this ?

Call Larry Fisher at D & L Transmission, 631-351-4837, he's as good as they get and will sell you what you need if you fix it yourself.

John, you may be able to put a thin layer of silicon sealant on the slight depression with your finger but the bellhousing will be in the way for the upper part of the shaft hole. When I had my t-10 rebuilt the shop put a small amount on this area and it did not interfere with the mounting surface. Hope this helps, Ron.

This is a somewhat common problem on both BW-T-10's as well as Muncies. It's usually a small crack in the extension housing. The crack was caused by some 'klutz' trying to remove the TAPERED PIN in the wrong direction.

You MAY be able to repair it by the application of some sealer or JB Weld to the area of the crack.
