    splash shield bracket

1964; Am I interpreting the AIM correctly for the splash shield brackets: it shows 2 rivets holding them to the floor pan, even though the brackets have 4 mounting holes? thanks

Two to the underbody and two to the frame on each splash shield. Plus rubber "seal".

        Re: Need more info

Have a good original 64 (at least in this area), but unable to tell what the question is. There exists four splash shields towards the front of my 64. One is small, 3797275-6, with the rubber seal on it, 3797033. The other is larger without seals. Both of these are held on by bolts, 3847758. No rivets for either.

Are you talking about the Reinforcement assembly, 3797423-4? I'm on page D179 of the 64 AIM, could not find your reference.

          Garth -

Yup, 4 holes in the bracket, but only two rivets are used, as shown in the illustration.
