C2 Seat Belt Cables

What is the purpose of these? Are the normal seat belt mounting points not adequate for collision conditions?

Best I can recall, the underbody steel seatbelt bracket that was attached (riveted) to the fiberglass would tear out in an accident and the driver/passenger would go out the windshield. Made a nasty mess.

Harry is correct, the cables are there to retain the driver or passenger after the bolt and retainer rip out of the fiberglass
