69 fiberglass to pillar post adhesive

While working on the door hinge pillar posts, I had to remove the fiber glass that runs from the door sill and vertical along the pillar. I have the glass riveted back in place on the pillars and am now ready to fill in the front edge up to the top. I remember the factory had finished this area with somekind of white filler but don't know what type material they used. Would this have been a seam sealer?

I believe it was a white pumpable seam sealer. Personally, it reminds me of white latex calk that had dried out On my 68 there was a spot just below the lower corner of the windshield that was stuffed full of gray putty. Behind the putty was a hole that had a plastic plug in it. Nice place for a water leak if the plug is missing or the puddy is gone. Most body shops will sell a similar calk. I would worry more about the finish tecture and paitablity. You want it to set up and dry but be slightly flexible. Hope that helps you, Terry

Terry, What you have described is pretty much what I remember the material to be. I'll talk to my local body shop to see what can be had. Thanks.

If you go to a good automotive paint supply store, they will have a lot to choose from. I am certain you can find something that will work. I remember recently buying something that was in a pressurized can that sort of worked like a whipped cream dispencer. The factory wasn't very neat about it either. Have fun. I found that same stuff under the piller post hinges and behind the hinge post. They were trying to solve a lot of water leakage problems. Terry
