One More Time On 63-64 Dash Tab Paint

I think we may now have enough info/agreement to suggest a correction in the JG about 63-64 dash tab and rivet paint. Do we all agree that ALL 63-64 tabs AND rivets are always painted gloss body color, no matter what the int/ext colors are?

If anyone disagrees or has any documentation (pic's of orig etc) that suggests this is not the case, please post. Thanks.

Dear Sir, My 63 is white/red. The rivets are painted red. Naw just kidding Mikey. Felt bad for you cause no one is replying to your good question. You know this rivet thing has been confusing to me since I joined NCRS almost 30 years ago. Even when my white 63 car was being judged I was not sure if the rivets were supposed to be white or bare or whatever. So we chromed them. Looks real nice Mikey. Happy New Year, John

      Michael,

I agree. I have a picture that I took of my '64 red/red convertible's door jam back in 1980 before the restoration. It clearly shows the tabs and rivets painted body color. Do you want a picture of it? I can send you one on Tuesday when I get back to work.

      Thanks,

      James West

Thanks James, that would be excellent. I have a feeling very few people agree with us on this one. Have several in agreement from previous posts but not nearly what I was hoping for. Happy New Year !!

Thanks John. Hopefully, there will be a special page in the JG just for your chrome rivets. Happy New Year !!
