1975 Carb Idle Stop Solenoid

I don't think all 1975 Corvettes have these? Maybe none???? The GM "literature" i.e. AIM - illustrates one mounted to the left front of the carb.

Or is it just L82 with AC with Automatic models?

Or ???? P&A = parts & accessories manual

I don't think that the idle control solenoid was used for either 1975 or 1976. However, there was such a part as GM #1997437. It was replaced by GM #1997458, but that's also been discontinued. Maybe they didn't sell well since no cars needed them? I more suspect that the idle control solenoid listing in the Corvette P&A Catalog "crept over" from one of the other catalogs.

You know Geoff your right, what the schematic shows and what the car shows are surely different. Also, just so I can complain a little, if you take a good look at a GM schematic, and compare it to MOPAR schematic, it's like night and day. The MOPAR schematic is so easy to read, match page to page, and what the schematic says is what the car follows even if it doesn't have all the options. Why couldn't GM do the same? Just my few cents. Ken.
