I've got rear exhaust. My power antenna doesn't work (although I can hear electric motor engage when I toggle the power switch). When I'm under car, I can barely see the mechanism, much less get my paws up there to do any meaningful work. I've tried working my hand around the inside wheelwell with the same lack of result. Is there a secret I don't know about or do I need to disconnect my exhaust to work on this bugger? Thanks for any help.

Re: C-2 1965 Power Antenna Removal
On my 66 coupe I faced the same problem getting it ready for a paint job. Once I accepted the fact that I needed to take apart the exhaust system on the left side it became a fairly easy job. I used a device purchased at Carlisle to seperate the exhaust pipe. Basically it is two clamps that tighten on seperate pieces of pipe and then a screw system pushes the two ends away from each other. Maybe the job can be done with the exhaust in place, but it sure made the task easy with room to work.

Re: C-2 1965 Power Antenna Removal
I just replaced the antenna on my 66 roadster. Thanks to some guys on this site I have a service bulletin that describes the process. I just loosened the left side muffler and the rear exhaust panel. The muffler dropped enough and pushed out of the way to get clearance to access the antenna. I managed but it was a challenge.

Here's the TSB Dave's referring to
By Jan '65 GM knew it was a puzzle for dealer R & R, so they printed these instructions (sans drawing). Guess they still couldn't figure it out, because they repeated it, as below, in June 1966 issue of Chevrolet Service News.
